Vira College of Engineering Bijnor is one of the premier Institution in western region of Uttar Pradesh. It provides B. Tech degree in six branches of Engineering (Bio-Tech./ Civil / EC / CS / EE and ME) and MBA in five disciplines i.e. HR/ Finance / Marketing/ IB and IT. It has a long tradition of excellence in teaching and maintaining discipline in the campus. It attracts some of the best students from all over Uttar Pradesh, and our alumni have been nicely placed in various reputed industries. I welcome to all the first year students to our college. The institute believes in Total Quality Management and ensures improvements in all fields of education viz Faculty, Class room teaching, Academics, Sports and Cultural Activities and also in maintaining Discipline. I also welcome all the second year, Third year and Fourth year students in the college and wish that they should extend a hearty welcome to their new friends in the College.

Many of the fresher’s must have apprehension about college and hostel life particularly about their interaction with the senior students in the first few weeks. Let me bring to the notice of all the senior students and also to the notice of new students that if a fresher forced to do anything which results in his/her mental or physical discomfort it will be interpreted as ragging which is completely banned in our college by a ruling of Honorable Supreme Court of India.

In this respect I would like you all to go through the gazette notification issued by the State Government.

In the light of the gazette notification I would like to strictly advice all the senior students that they should not indulge in any type of ragging.

1. To curb ragging in the college, hostel and outside.
2. If you know your friends involved in ragging and you have not informed to college, morally you will also be held responsible for ragging.
3. If any one of you is found indulging in ragging or supporting ragging or witnessing ragging etc. severe punishment leading to very heavy fines and expulsion from the college will be imposed. Even the police cases will be registered against these students, in the light of the above gazette notification.
